One of the most overlooked yet important steps in steel building erection is verifying the anchor bolts. Every anchor bolt must be located exactly where the engineered plans specify. Even small measurement errors can create major problems once the steel begins arriving on site.

Material Delivery and Organization
Once the building package arrives, each component is inventoried and inspected. Columns, rafters, purlins, girts, bolts, trim, roof panels, wall panels, and other materials are organized to make installation as efficient as possible.
This step also allows crews to identify any damaged or missing components before construction moves forward.
Erecting the Structural Steel Frame
With the foundation verified and materials organized, construction of the steel frame begins.
Using cranes and specialized lifting equipment, crews install the primary structural members, including columns and rafters. Temporary bracing is used throughout the process to maintain stability while additional framing is installed.
Precision is critical during this stage. Every connection must be properly aligned, leveled, and secured to ensure the building performs exactly as it was engineered.
Installing Secondary Framing
After the primary frame is complete, crews install the secondary framing components. These include purlins, girts, eave struts, and bracing systems that strengthen the structure and provide attachment points for roof and wall panels.
Although these components may seem smaller, they are essential for distributing loads and providing additional structural support.
Roof and Wall Panel Installation
Once the framework is complete, the roof panels are typically installed first to create a weather-resistant structure. After the roof is complete, crews install wall panels, trim, flashing, doors, windows, gutters, and other exterior components.
This stage transforms the steel frame into a fully enclosed building that is ready for interior improvements, utilities, insulation, or occupancy.
Final Inspection
Before a project is considered complete, every aspect of the building is inspected. Crews verify structural alignment, bolt tightness, weather sealing, trim installation, and overall workmanship to ensure the finished building meets quality expectations.
